The project is composed of the Community Council of the Black Community of Alto Guapi, which works to protect the forest by reducing and controlling deforestation and forest degradation. The community council consists of approximately 1,823 people, grouped into about 912 men and 911 women.

Objectives and Activities
Forest Protection:
Our primary goal is to protect the forest. We implement measures to reduce and control deforestation and forest degradation, monitor forest activities, enforce sustainable practices, and prevent illegal logging.
Community Involvement:
We actively involve community members in our conservation efforts. Through training and workshops, we educate the community on sustainable land use, forest management, and conservation techniques.
Sustainable Livelihoods:
We support the development of sustainable livelihood opportunities. This includes promoting agroforestry, eco-tourism, and other activities that provide economic benefits while preserving the forest.
Biodiversity Conservation:
By protecting the forest, we also conserve the region’s rich biodiversity, safeguarding the habitats of various plant and animal species.
Cultural Preservation:
We are committed to preserving the cultural heritage and traditional knowledge of the Black Community of Alto Guapi. This involves documenting and promoting traditional practices that contribute to sustainable living and forest conservation.
